Lorcan saw Dylan eying Scorpius, and wondered if he should apologize or something. But Dylan had told him to move on. Did he want him to be miserable forever? That didn't seem fair, not when he was sure Dylan had gone out shagging as much as he wanted. It had been what he wanted, after all. Not what Lori had wanted.
"Um, well, we're friends really," he said in answer to Dylan's question. "And he's nice, and we have things in common." He bit his lower lip and tried to stop his stomach from doing that twisty thing. He felt ashamed and guilty, like he'd done someone wrong. But he hadn't, he didn't think.
He twisted the neck of his beer bottle nervously in his hand, and wondered where his haze of happiness had gone. He felt miserable all over again, and Dylan hadn't really even said anything. "Um, how about you?"
