"Right, open mouth, out comes nineteenth century," Remus chuckled. "I guess it's easier when the subject isn't personal."
Remus took a breath before answering the other man's string of questions. A small part of him wished his future self hadn't been as stubbornly against acknowledging any hint of attraction to anyone. Maybe he wouldn't feel so unbalanced now about it. "All of the above...with men or women. I...well, it's a long explanation. But, the short of it is that, for various reasons that have changed over the years, I never thought a werewolf could or should become involved with anyone and I've just...not. A momentary appreciation would be pushed to the back of my mind and forgotten."
Now he looked truly chagrined as he answered the smile with a wry grimace. "My future self's marriage. I didn't want to deal with it at all. So, I haven't yet looked into whether or not it's legally valid and I'm still bound to a woman I don't love."
