Voldemort hummed and hawed over Theodore's response, even though some of it was new information to him. He didn't like legends, especially ones that weren't backed up by evidence. He also didn't like it when his servants didn't take the obvious next step. It was so obvious of a step to take. If this was the quality of department heads the Ministry hired these days, then they really were screwed. Or perhaps he had erred in the memories he had implanted. His daughter was an Unspeakable, surely unspeakables could manage more than just a slashing hex. He would have to spend more time thinking about this.
Nott,
Thank you for repeating much of what I had already known. When you have take the obvious next step and confirmed whether Potter's Elder Wand has the same marking, contact me.
Dumbledore's wand looked the same as the history books shown but different from what Voldemort had known as a student, so Albus had obtained a new wand. The Elder Wand. If the wand's power survived Albus' resurrection, then that would imply the Ring was still a horcrux.
He picked the Ring up off the mantle, where it was sitting next to his trophy for Special Services to Hogwarts. Was this the Ring the legend spoke of? And if so, how to activate it? He would figure it out. Just as he had figured out how to open the Chamber of Secrets. And how to make horcruxes - knowledge that no one else alive knew. And how to bring about the death of Albus Dumbledore. He had done it before. He would do it again. And then every tongue would sing the praises of the Dark Lord.
