Re: Remus - Sirius
"Oh, well if there are rules..." Remus grinned back.
"Yes, I know." Remus sighed. "You and James told me all about them any number of times." And I should have done more to stop you, he thought to himself, though he would not reopen that guilt trip at Sirius' party. Still, he had to chuckle. "Yes, well, he's twelve years older than you are now. He's matured a bit."
And yeah, that was still odd. No one was the right age any more.
"Honestly, I don't think you could be more surprised that we seem to get along than we are," Remus laughed, shrugging helplessly because he couldn't explain what drew him to talk about things with Regulus any more than Sirius could. "I like him. We may never be great friends, but I like not being enemies."
He blinked in surprise at the gift, remembering the ancient elf Regulus had been so solicitous of at that first lunch. Somehow, the idea of giving someone a house elf didn't feel quite the same as Craig's friends giving him a puppy for Christmas. It was a stark reminder that Sirius really did come from that other world. "Well, I know absolutely nothing about how those things work, but I would say there's perfectly good weekend on the horizon when you could take him with you to find one."
