Re: Remus - Regulus
"You can't! You're the one who brought it up to begin with," Regulus said, smiling brightly now. "I've actually been good at not mentioning anything involving animalistic instincts, being on all fours, and being alpha, but I can always change my mind."
Regulus snorted at the purported confession. "If that's the case, may I suggest changing your name to James Potter? I think that would help more than anything else.' He looked over his shoulder, although he couldn't see inside. "He looks happy with James, doesn't he? At least he has some peace, for however long it lasts."
He appreciated the offer, but he didn't think there was much that could be done. Sharing the knowledge about the horcruxes wouldn't help anyone. "Immortality isn't something to be shared. In fact, it shouldn't exist. Even the purest soul would be corrupted if he lived forever. It's the nature of power."
He smiled a little. "You keep saying that, but what have you ever done to darken your soul? You might have been infected with a dark creature, but what you have done?" he asked again. He took Remus' hand, the cloak hiding his movements from view, and he ran his hand over Remus' left arm. "You did this when you could have been out there to hurt others, but you didn't. I have; I wanted to, and I only regret a few."
