Re: Remus - Regulus
"Strange, I always thought that they wouldn't attack animals." He stayed silent for a moment. "I suppose there are always more people around than animals, at least nowadays, so that would explain why it was rare to hear an attack on an animal."
Regulus smiled a little. Even thought none of this was funny, the idea of anyone giving orders to Sirius was pretty amusing. "You don't know how hard it is to resist the urge to make jokes about dominance and Sirius. I suggest you never share that information with Severus."
He opened the cloak slightly so that Remus could show him arm. Regulus' fingers danced over the scars without thinking. "That's- it's where the mark was. It's strange not to feel it burn, not to be connected to him and the others. It was an honour. It took time, effort, but not for some, not for Severus, not for me."
He pulled his hand away and closed the cloak around them. "I think some of us have too much darkness to ever reach that type of magic, pure to its highest level, pure enough to protect a child from the killing curse. The fact that you can even see it proves just how good you are despite what you are. Getting to that part might become a lot harder if you start practising the dark arts."
