Summary: The Prophet reports on the murder of Charlotte Nott and Grindelwald's release
Death At Quidditch Match
What was to be a joyous even turned into a scene of death and despair. The Puddlemere United vs. Falmouth Falcons Game, River Piddle in Dorset, England was suspended after Voldemort was seen at the Stadium. Sources tells us that the Dark Lord was first spotted by James Sirius Potter, son of the Head Auror.
Mr. Potter saved a woman from digesting an unknown potion before running after Voldemort. Seemingly intent in following in his father's footstep, the young Potter was not able to stop the death of Charlotte Nott, daughter of Theodore Nott, current Head of the Department of Mystery.
Ms. Nott had joined the Ministry after Hogwarts and was currently working in her father's department as an assistant. Ms. Nott was watching the game with friends when she was attacked and killed with the killing curse. The Aurors are currently investigating possible motives for the murder.
The family had already announced a wake at the estate's church until Wednesday when the funeral will be held. The Mass will be at 11:00 o'clock.
Grindelwald Roams Free
In a shocking turn of events, the Ministers for Magic met in a special summit held in Germany. The leaders of the European ministries agreed to ratify an opinion released by the International Confederation of Wizards on the 24th of December, 2024. In their opinion, the Confederation stated that Mr. Grindelwald should not be imprisoned having completed his life sentence at the time of his death.
The decision came after a dispassionate speech from Albus Dumbledore. The former Headmaster spoke at length about legal precedents and second chances. He assured the Ministers of Mr. Grindelwald's remorse. He also assured that he was taking responsibility for Mr. Grindelwald.
In the end, the Ministers agreed with Albus Dumbledore. One must wonder if it's because they believed the legal precedent or because Mr. Dumbledore was (and probably still is) the only one able to stop the infamous Gellert Grindelwald. .
