Daphne was sad to learn that Tracy, her housemate in school, told Adrian that he wasn't to see her anymore. Daphne didn't understand why, she was only ever a friend to them both. But oh well, they were here talking together now. "Yes, I'm quite a mess. I'm just off from work, long bloody day."
When he asked her to join him for dinner, Daphne's smile grew true. She took the arm that he held out to her, and she felt a spark that she hadn't felt in twenty years. "I would love to. I certainly have missed you. You were always such a great friend."
