James was all business now. Praises meant little when he was learning, not that Snape's comment could be considered praise per se. Still, James felt that it was his job to learn correctly.
He looked at Snape and shook his head. "No, that's not what I meant. I was thinking about the decree and how they want us to cast the killing curse, but no one has even got near doing any dark spell, let alone the unforgiveables, unless you count my Dad. It's one of those decrees that looks good on paper, but it could hurt more people than it could help, because if you try and fail, you're not likely to get a second chance."
James took a deep breath. "No, I meant that if what you want to teach me isn't approved by the division, no one would know. That's all."
