Dominique looked up at him. "Well, we are cousins," she defended. "We must have learned it from somewhere.
She shrugged. "I just don't want to complain, you know?" This was her mess and she needed to live with it. Her life had irrevocably changed and she needed to adjust.
Pausing for a moment, Dominique looked at Dylan. He was being quiet. Perhaps it was the season? Nothing like the holidays to make one reflect on one's state of living. "You don't have to leave just yet," she said softly. "If we're both out here, we can't be accused of hiding or avoiding people."
