"Maybe she's saying it's casual and fun to keep you from worrying that it's too serious?" Molly glanced toward Dominique again, then looked back at her son with a wry little smile. "Far be it from me to tell any of my children what to do..." She held up a hand to stave off even a laughing protest. "But I think you have to have faith in Dominique. You've raised her to be an intelligent, independent young woman. You won't be able to make her decisions for her forever. All that's left is to trust her, and be there if it goes badly."
Molly folded her arms warmly around herself. "She's still learning who she is. If he tries to make her change into something that's not her, she'll know. And I have the feeling that her refusal will be rather spectacular."
