"I'm okay with that," he said with a grin, leaning his head over on hers as they sat quietly.
The dogs seemed to understand that they needed some time just to themselves, and soon the two of them disappeared, most likely back to the bedroom to get a little more sleep.
Once they were gone, it was all quiet out in the living room, and Atlas closed his eyes, just concentrating on the moment. Taking in her new scent, trying to learn everything about her that was different. "I hadn't noticed before," he muttered. "About your heartbeat. . . and breathing." It was going to take some getting used to, her not being human anymore, but he hadn't been fully human for years, so he was sure he could handle it.
"Is it weird?" he asked then, moving his hand down to cover the one on his stomach. "Being. . . what you are. Do you miss what you used to be?"
