Jamie said something similar, didn't he? Only I thought it was his particular quirk. But it appears that the rest of the world shares that behaviour as well... but why? And how did it ever manage to keep itself populated till now with all those limitations?
Furthermore, Snape's statement raised a couple of further questions. Why would one specifically single out their significant individual by display of targeted impoliteness toward them? And what exactly did 'speculate' imply? Al speculated about all sorts of issues in his thoughts, did that mean that his mind was continuously rude to the entire world?
But out of all the questions he had, Al asked Snape none. Instead, he accepted the statement as yet another unexplainable quirk of human nature.
"Well, this is unfortunate," he sighed. "This rule significantly limits the estimated range of my speculations in an area I had hoped to explore further in my conversations from unlimited to," he thought of it, just to make sure, "...non-existent for the planned future."
