She smiled a little at his response, though rather than answer, she first apparated them to the little alleyway she'd found. Hanging onto his arm until they were both steady and secure on their feet, she released him slowly.
"I just wasn't sure you were ..." she hesitated as she attempted to find the phrasing she was after. "With everything else going on, I didn't want to ... push anything. But I wouldn't stage any protests to considering this a date, if you were comfortable with that," she replied, grinning despite the diplomacy of her words. Or perhaps because of the way the words had come out.
She could already hear Ashley's chipper 'I told you so's, and that made her grin a bit as well. Well, she'd be lying if she said she hadn't at least considered the idea of it. She'd actually spent a fair bit of time considering the idea of it.
Cocking her head toward the exit, she started to walk along the alley. "It's not very far from here. They've even got a bar if we wanted to have a drink first."
