"Oh, I knew it. Just another reason not to get all grown-up and egotistical. I mean, really. Who cares what you do, as long as you like it? And then you add in the oh did you see what she's wearing?, and it's enough to make you wish you had a stomach settling potion."
She turned and leaned alongside him against the tree. "Although it is sort of fun to wear something pretty and new at a fancy sort of party. Grandmama's parties are usually more fun, but everyone blends into a mob of Weasley/Potter/ginger and there's not so much sparkle. Unless Uncle George brings fireworks."
She shook her head. "Jamie's party got pretty crazy for a while," she added, glancing over at him. "Grownups are so much dumber than kids about some things."
