Lily laughed. "Scallywag? Huh. I thought Albus was the only one of those here. But if there's three of you, I bet you could get away with snowballs. What are they going to do? Expel you?" She grinned. Remus was fun, and the idea of them starting a snowball fight here of all places, was funny in the extreme.
She finished off her cocoa and charmed the cup away, looking off over the steps to the garden. It was nearly Christmas, and she felt festive.
Oh. And pretty. It was one thing to pester your brother for compliments, another altogether for one to come without asking, and it rather startled her to receive one from Remus.
"Why, thank you, Mr. Lupin." She bobbed a bit of a curtsy, feeling a bit self-conscious, but a smile spread over her face just the same.
"There isn't a lot to do, but it's nice enough. I walked around and looked at the trees, and talked to some people I know from school." She shrugged, tucking her hands into her muff, warming her fingers together. She had talked to someone, right?
She gave herself a mental shake. "It's mostly a grownup night. I think they talk about business and try to make themselves feel good about how important they think they are, compared to how pathetic other people are. It's sort of like school, actually."
