Remus was just thinking that at least teasing around with Sirius made functions like this bearable when James arrived with his news. The change over both Marauders was instantaneous as each went from casual chatting to combat ready in seconds. Remus had triggered the holster at his wrist before James could even finish delivering his warnings.
"No one is going to do anything stupid," he growled softly in warning, shucking off the mental guise of 'easy-going Lupin' in favor of something a little more intimidating behind his implacable facade. "Craig, stay with us for now. No one should be wandering around here on their own until we're sure he's either gone or in custody."
His sense on alert, it was easy to pick out Al on his way over to them. "Here comes one of them now."
