"You wouldn't," she assured him. "She makes you a part of who you are the same as your friends and family shape you. If you ever have children you'll learn from her mistakes and you wouldn't want to forget those."
"Yes but it's not that. You were in the same house at school, right? And grew up together? But are you the same with the people in different houses? Do you treat them the same?" Allison knew she was asking a lot of questions but she found the house and social system more regimented than in the Muggle world. Middle-class had widened and working class was no different when it came to university; everybody got financial aid and were treated the same. "I'm just saying that you're less likely to talk to people who either aren't in the same social class or you haven't met personally at school. It might be an assumption but it's something I've noticed."
"I'd say I don't fit in. You have no idea how many people have stared at me or come over to speak to me once they've figured out that I'm the Muggle in their midst. Just for their own curiosity and to see if I'm some kind of halfwit, I think," She rolled her eyes. "I like the people who drop by the house more. They're nicer than some of the people here."
