"We'll see," Remus smirked softly at the cheek. He didn't mention that he was beginning to think it might go both ways -- if James Sirius hurt Pads, or if Padfoot hurt James Sirius. Those three boys, this generation's Marauders, had somehow managed to worm their way right into his affections with the same ease their childhood heroes had.
Nor did he return the comments about everyone needing love. They had agreed to be friends and he could accept that she was used to a different Remus Lupin. But, there were going to be some subjects he shied away from discussing with her at all, at least until they'd known each other more than a couple days.
"Kids," he agreed laughingly. He might be only a couple years older than his son, but Remus had always felt light-years older than most his age. The only exception had ever been when he was clowning with the other Marauders. They were his anchor that way.
"I suppose," he said, moving toward the rest of the party, "I ought to at least make sure Craig found Dylan and they both got James Sirius' message."
