"It' funny." A warm chuckle underlay Remus' words with a layer of emotion that only talk of Ted could produce. "I never see myself in him. I see much more of my father, in his eyes especially. He has Tad's eyes. Got his coloring, too."
For the first time, Remus took a moment to really look at Tonks, more than the quick study he'd given her the day before to get familiar with her features -- or as familiar as one could get with a metamorphmagus, he supposed, although neither she nor Ted seemed particularly inclined to look differently every time they saw him. "Your smile, though."
The explanation of her literary reference certainly explained her sheepish expression. He realised it had been another of her 'slips' into thinking of them in his future. Uncomfortable as thinking about it made him, Remus really didn't want her to feel she had to censor everything she said to him. He wasn't that big of an ogre, even if he did wish they could just focus on the present and forget about what had been in his future.
"I guess I can see how you got from one to the other," he said slowly, trying to smile reassuringly. "Although, a Pendragon might be a little out of my league."
