Handing off the bottle in his hand, Remus turned back to the table then and procured another for himself. When he'd opened the bottle and taken a couple sips, he turned back to her again.
"It's a nice gathering," he replied finally. "A nice family. They deserve a bit of celebration after the last few weeks."
She caught his interest when she mentioned seeing Ted. He'd seen his son speaking with Harry a little while earlier and thought he looked quite happy. If things had gone well at a meeting with his mother, Remus would be happy as well. Just because he wasn't comfortable with her didn't mean Remus didn't also want her to find a relationship with their son the way he'd been doing.
"Did you? I'm glad. How did things go?" He knew Ted had been hurt by the distance between he and his mother. Not that the young man had said anything about it much, just one comment shortly after Remus returned. But, Remus had seen it all the same.
He did look questioningly at her, however, as he did not understand the literary reference, having not heard the inner monologue that led to the vocalised word. "Literary?"
