Having left Craig, Remus went in search of another butterbeer, which is how Tonks managed to find him without a wall, shrub, or other cover at his back. The soft, almost inaudible sound of a very tiny pebble being dislodged by small-footed steps and a newly familiar scent from behind warned him of the approach at nearly the same time. Although, he was not quite fast enough in turning to greet her before she managed to grasp his fingers briefly.
Remus wasn't sure he was ready for another dose of Nymphadora Tonks just yet. But, he was coming to the conclusion he was best off simply treating her like he would Ginny or Hermione, someone his future self had once been close to and whom he could at least consider a new friend. The future/past/ whatever could work itself out as it would.
"Hello, Tonks." Completing his turn away from the table laden with goodies and drinks, he tipped the unopened bottle he'd just picked up in her direction, even as he took a small step back to discourage further contact. "Butterbeer?"
