"I was a bit more than ticked off!" Dominique retorted, though she took the smirk as a sign of him teasing. "And it didn't exactly work, so I get what I deserve, I suppose."
She bit her lip. The tale had slid easily from her lips when she was talking to Rose, but would it be so easy talking to a former fling, even if he was a friend? Doubtful.
"His name's Terry and he's... older." Dominique looked into her cup. "Not that means much of anything. Mostly all we've done is talk. It's all terribly school girl, really." Not that her father would listen. "My father accused me of being a naive little girl and I may have taken offense to that." She may be a little innocent, but Dominique wouldn't call herself naive.
"And as for forgetting, I was merely making the assumption you wanted to be treated as normal for a night, nobody questioning you about how you felt or how much better you look. I didn't mean to offend."
