It's harder to ignore the want Who: Alex and George Where: The Meadows back garden When: After dinner Rating/Warnings: Language, possibly Summary: Alex and his dad find something in common.
The girls had volunteered to help with washing up, and Alex had gone upstairs for a book to take outside. He'd been allowed into the back garden, even grounded, because his parents had set up monitoring charms that would alert them if he left the property. It was annoying, being watched like a hawk, but he could understand why.
He'd fucked up.
The hell of it was, he'd do it again in a second, given the chance, and he knew it. He rummaged in his desk drawer for the book he wanted, a really old potions book that talked about things barely in use anymore, but his fingers found a curve of glass first. He pulled the little bottle out and looked at it with a surge of hunger he hadn't felt in days.
It was empty, of course. He'd drunk anything and everything he'd had in the few days after his Summoning charm stopped working. Alex closed his fingers around the bottle, scooping up the book that lay in the drawer, then heading down the stairs and to the hall for his jacket.
He settled in Mum's squashy garden chaise and started to read, his fingers sliding into his pocket to rub across the smooth glass every few minutes. Gods, he wished it was full... Alex licked his lips, tasting the raspberry, then turned the page.
