Neville was leaning against the side of the window, watching the rain that centralized over the house when he heard the door open. He was thinking of what he could do for Minerva, how he could track down who had done this, but there were more questions than answers.
Alice reached him, telling him her story. He half smiled and turned slightly to look at her. She was playing with the bits of silvery hair that he really hadn't noticed yet in the reflection of the window. "I know mother." he said weakly before regarding her again. "I was just filled with so much rage, so much want to hurt the person who turned Minerva, or at the very least make them pay severely for what they had done. The urge was too powerful, I had to set it loose or it would consume me." he caught a glimpse of his profile after that and touched where his hair had gone grey, knowing then why his Mum warned him about the cost.
It was true, he did want to hurt this person, but what good would it do when he had a child on the way, a sibling on the way, a daughter who was a new vampire and he was still the Headmaster of a school filled with students. It wouldn't do to have him locked away for committing atrocities, no matter how much he thought the vampire deserved it.
