"Looks can be deceiving Minerva, I'm anything but calm right now. But would it really help you for me to yell and scream and storm out of here looking to end that miserable wretch's life in the most painful way possible?" Neville watched his daughter with a raised eyebrow and tried to keep his anger toward the vampire that bit her to a minimum. "Getting all riled up won't help you." He kissed her temple just to prove a point. "And you're not a monster. There are many vampires who are responsible and do not go around biting people and turning them without their consent. You're my girl, not a monster."
Listening very carefully to who this 'Atlas' was, Neville wanted to surmise if there would be any trouble from him - or if he had caused this, even indirectly. Minerva picked at the blanket and was more shy than she usually ever was. But she had made a good decision, he guessed. If what Atlas wanted wasn't what she did, then she was right to call it off. Neville would just have to be the one answering the door and getting the owls from now on.
Staring out the window, like he said he would, Neville's mind was working with scenarios mixed with flashes of anger and guilt and when he had a moment free, he would rid himself of it, but not then. He could feel his daughter actually drink all of the contents of the cup. He breathed a small sigh of relief mingled with regret that he couldn't have prevented this.
Just as Minerva was finishing, Hannah came bursting in and startled the both of them. Neville was glad to see her, but now he had to tell her what had happened. "She's fine, she's alive..." Sighing, Neville kissed the top of Minerva's head and whispered to her before walking over to Hannah. "Minnie was... well, she was found in Diagon Alley by a Hit Wizard and it turns out that she's been bitten, and has been turned into a vampire." Neville swallowed hard and just watched Hannah's eyes, praying that she could see his pain and anguish, not to mention anger and frustration. He was trying to stay strong and calm on the outside, otherwise his emotions would get the better of him and he'd be on a vengeful tear through Diagon Alley.
