He could have made a lot more fun of the situation if he wanted to, but this was Jamie, and he could tell he was worried so the humour kind of vanished. "Well there you go," he said as Jamie continued, slapping him lightly on the leg. "Tell them that you do with kids one day and you can't have that with Sirius and that he wants the same thing so it isn't for the long run but just keeping each other company until you find that perfect girl."
He smiled. "In your family kids will have them crying for joy and they'll forget all about Sirius and you as a couple." He wrapped an arm around Jamie's neck, pulling him closer. "If they don't ask them to help look for good enough girl, they'll be busy for at least a year before they give up."
"Alternatively, you stop worrying and let them think what they think while you and Sirius know the truth. Or pretend to," he added, because yeah, he knew that look. He'd given it to Lori often enough.
