He laughed and nodded. "I completely understand. I put a lot of effort into being punctual. I won't be a moment late. I promise."
Looking at the stack of books she'd yet to put away, he grinned sheepishly. "I'm sorry to have kept you from your work," he said. "I'm sure my desk will be littered with new requests when I return."
"I look forward to talking to you tomorrow," he said, with a short bow before turning and heading out of the library. He waited until he was back in his office before punching the air and leaping (not very high) for joy. She'd said yes. They had a date.
