"Well, despite your efforts to give me a heart attack this afternoon, I'm glad we didn't stop at Al, too," he agreed with a fond smile. He was pretty proud of how their children had turned out, actually. Some of that, he was sure, was just dumb luck as there were plenty of times he hadn't had the first idea about what he was doing.
"Just... humor me and try to remember that growing up isn't really a race. And don't do anything until you're ready," he added before the corners of his lips twitched with a grin he was trying to contain, "and if you're not ready until you're ... thirty, that's okay, really."
