"They're just jealous," his mother replied impishly, implying that no one could be as awesome as they were, so that was why they said such things. Of course, she only said it to get a laugh or a smile out of James. Ginny didn't really believe that. Much.
She relaxed, moving to perch on the arm of the couch near his head. It was a position some people might have found uncomfortable, but it was a lifelong habit, for Ginny. She either perched, or she stretched out like a cat, claiming the entire space.
It went back to her childhood-- to the fact she'd grown up with six brothers, and was often forced to content herself, as the smallest, with whatever space was left; the arms of furniture, or the floor, when the furniture lacked arms, or they were unsuitable for perching. Likewise, it explained the other extreme: when she was lucky enough to have a couch to herself, she wanted to take full advantage of that luxury.
