Al took a deep breath, which turned out to be more of a deep gulp. On shaky legs, he crossed the room and fell into the armchair. He needed something to hold him up.
Perhaps James was right, and every conversation with his brother would have been better off with Al sitting down, from now on forward. There was an interesting theory in that, somewhere.
Then Sirius spoke, interrupting his thoughts.
What the hell kind of question is that?
"Um, I am, actually." Speaking of articulate... He looked up at James, but then turned to Sirius, hoping he'd have a better chance of a more detailed answer than Jamie's regular 'just fine'. "How is he today?"
