"You're really way too predictable. You know that, right?" He wasn't sure if it was true, but for some reason, he understood Sirius in ways that he'd never understood anyone, with the exception of Dylan and Craig and that was a very different thing.
"Oy, no insulting me," he said, but he was smiling. "It's not my fault that you look so well in robes. You should blame your parents. They might have been crazy, but they passed on good genetics."
James froze. He didn't even know what he had expected. The truth maybe, even if he really didn't want Sirius to admit to anything else, not when it would make both of them hurt more. Slowly he relaxed again, resting against Sirius. "So tell me what you were doing tonight? Anything fun?" he asked, deciding that changing the subject was probably for the best.
