Her boss let her off work an hour early, even though the shop was busy enough with witches and wizards coming in for replacement wands. Despite what muggles would think, a wand wasn't immortal and even the most cared for wand needed to be replaced eventually.
Minerva hurried to Godric's Hollow, her heart in her throat the entire trip there. Jamie's owl had caused her to panic throughout the rest of the day, and at one point she had to stay in the loo for twenty-minutes before she could get in control of her emotions. It didn't due to cry in front of customers.
She saw Jamie in the Potter's living room, sitting calmly on the couch and Minerva bit her lip. She promised herself she wouldn't get emotional. Jamie was just being melodramatic - a cure would be found overnight or even tomorrow and then wouldn't he look like the silly arse?
"All right then, Jamie?" Minerva asked, walking into the room.
