"You refuse, do you?" Snape actually smiled. Not a sneer, not a smirk, a smile. A happy, gratified expression. It looked positively unnatural on that hatchet-harsh face. "We'll see about that," he said lightly.
He didn't draw his wand. He didn't even bother to incant aloud. After all, Petrificus Totalus was a firstie's charm. He simply froze the stubborn brat, tipped back his head and dumped the potion down his throat in one brisk movement, as matter-of-fact as if what he'd done was as ordinary as decanting a potion from one container to another.
He drew blood, peered into furious eyes, took a racing pulse, turned on his heel and strode for the door. Only once he was actually on his way out of the room did he lift the Petrificus.
And by that time, he'd drawn his wand. Just in case.
