RP: Dylan and Jamie
Who: Dylan and Jamie
Where: Malfoy Manor
When: November 17
Rating/Warnings:
Summary: After Harry leaves, Dylan can't hold off talking to Jamie any longer

After Cass had arrived last night, Dylan hadn't been left alone for two seconds. He'd eventually slammed the door to his bedroom and told Cass he was staying outside, but when Astoria Malfoy had stormed the room in the middle of the night Cass had still been there, apparently sleeping on the sofa.

Even in his sleep fogged state, he'd manage to catch on to what had been going on as Mrs Malfoy assaulted him with questions. Where was Scorpius and James? What had James told him? When had they left? What did he know?

Scorpius had really left like he'd said he would. Jamie wasn't in his room (obviously). They now thought Jamie and Scorpius had left together.

Had Cass not been in the room, he might have got away with lying, getting a way to get up and sneak into Sirius' room and warn Jamie. But Cass was a walking lie detector, so he'd had to been forced to keep to the truth, and with Mrs Malfoy not letting him out of bed, let alone out of the room, there was no way he could get to warn Jamie. Instead he'd just answered the questions, frustrated, hoping that she'd leave before everything went to hell. No he did not know where Scorpius was. Had they checked with Al? No Jamie hadn't said anything, nor would he. Jamie didn't trust him with that kind of information any longer.

He'd almost thought it would work, when Harry appeared, not waiting for questions before walking straight into Sirius' room, seeing - well Dylan could only imagine. He didn't get to talk to James though, not in the chaos that followed. And then there was the attack of vomiting and lack of breathing and the sleeping potion he'd been given.

When he woke up again, Scorpius was back, had had an attack, and Harry was in Jamie's room talking to him. He pondered speaking to Sirius, but decided to stay in his room instead, watching Jamie's door. The moment Harry had left, and headed into Sirius' room instead, he got up and walked across the hall, knocking then entering.

"Are you all right?" he asked. "How did your dad react? And fuck we need a way to communicate, because I would have warned you if I could, but Mrs Malfoy didn't even let me out of bed for all the questions she was asking. Was it very bad?"

James turned at the knock, expecting his dad to have forgot something. "What?" He snorted when he saw Dylan come in and asking a series of questions without giving him the time to answer any of them.

"Nah, I just killed him and hid his body in the library. It was the butler with the candlestick who did it," he answered, chuckling.

He looked at Dylan, smiling. "Start breathing, before you can't breathe for real. It's fine. It seems this truth thing works on occasion. I can't even take credit for it, because it was Sirius' idea and not mine. I would have gone with denial and told him to prove it that we were fucking, but yeah no, not bad. He kept talking about relationship, having someone and boyfriends. I might have rashes from all of those words, but other than that, he'll 'get used to this' because he wants us to be happy and if we're 'happy with each other than he's okay with it'. Basically, we have his blessing to get married. I'm not sure what happens when he realises that it's not happening."

Rolling his eyes, Dylan smacked James lightly on the arm. "Prat," he said, though the effect might have been better if the didn't start laughing at the same time.

"Really?" he asked, looking incredulously at him. "Think the curse has affected our fathers too? Seeing how neither of them are acting like their usual self."

"He gave you his blessing? You've got to be pulling my leg. I mean I'd get it if it was Cass, but then he fucks everything that moves, but this is your dad. I thought he'd nag you to death or something."

James stretched closer so he could return the favour, but it was mostly symbolic, his hand barely touching Dylan's arm, before he grabbed his arm and pulled him on the couch with him.

"I'm not a prat, and you love me, although Craig said that in school people thought that we loved each other in very different ways. Did you know that?" he asked with a frown. "If so, why wasn't I told, so I could kick some arse."

He grinned. "They are all insane. I swear that our hex is effecting their brain. There's no other explanation, but yes, I got his blessing, which shows you that he's not Cass. He'd have told me to go forward and fuck. If we're cured, then he'll nag so we make it official and get a ring," he joked, but not so much, because his dad was very traditional. "And by the way, I won't even make a joke about nagging me to death at the moment," he said, chuckling.

Dylan laughed when he tumbled into the sofa. "You're definitely a prat but yes I love you and no I definitely didn't know or I'd been right there with you kicking arse, that's gross." He settled next to Jamie. "I swear Craig didn't tell us because he's too nice to get them hexed."

"Yeah? Cass spoke about my boyfriend the night we had the attack and how he'd liked to know that someone was that important to me and all sorts of crap that I didn't know could even come out of his mouth," he shuddered. "Really they're gone insane, and if you and Sirius get a ring do I get to be best man at the wedding," he teased. "And have you thought about adopting yet? Do you want girls or boys or maybe a Quidditch team?"

"Something about not hexing Hufflepuff girls and get in trouble. I assured him that I could find other ways to make their lives miserable, even without magic." The right word said almost casually could ruin reputations, especially girls'. He could play those games too when needed. "He really is too nice, and he might have a date... with someone who isn't Sirius, which is good news, and boy, am I glad I told him before my father found out."

James chuckled. "So how much did he wince at the word 'boyfriend'?" He stopped for a moment. "He didn't even say anything about the fact that it wasn't a girlfriend. He's really gone insane." He cuffed the back of Dylan's head. "Who's being a prat now? You can save that dress robe for Craig's wedding."

"You're right, I don't know where we went wrong. You'd think we'd rub off on him," Dylan said with a grin, understanding perfectly well what James meant. It wasn't as if he hadn't got up to exactly the same kind of games that Jamie had. "A date?" he then said. "With whom? Not just some idiot he picked because he wanted to get over Sirius, I hope?" Though with Craig that was always a risk.

"Cass? I'd expect him to wince much more at the relationship part, though he didn't much at all," he said with a snort. "Seriously he fucks everything that moves, men or women doesn't matter. He's almost worse than you and me, though I suspect that is age related and we'll pass him eventually."

He almost managed to duck James' hand and laughed. "Craig's? With a new date? Think we'll be cured in three weeks, really? Or will he hold off with the wedding until we are?"

"I know. Nine years, all wasted on him," he said, trying to keep a straight face. "He's still nice, which is even worse. We should have convinced him to be an Auror, make him bitter and cynical like the rest of the world," he joked.

"Some bloke at work, so I'm assuming that said bloke is nice too. They must be to have the patience to deal with animals, and the people that come to see the animals." He found that the people were always more annoying.

James shook his head smiling. "Can you imagine our fathers talking about this? My father is all about relationship and love and Cass- He's not." He laughed with Dylan when he mentioned the three weeks. "Oh, I don't know, if they are both nice, we might have one sooner."

Dylan grinned. "He picked such a horrible time to have his own will, didn't he?" He mock sighed. "Such a waste. We really should make him come over to the dark side. It's much more fun here. We get to laugh at people and make fun of them." His grin, turned into a laugh.

"Oh gods, don't let them ever get the idea. You know they're friendly with each other." He shuddered. "If Cass start sporting ideas of relationships, I'm blaming your father, just so you know."

"Sooner than three weeks? But that's so not fair," he said while almost managing not to laugh. "How am I supposed to pick up someone to shag at the wedding when I can't breathe?" He chuckled, elbowing James in the side. "You're so not good for my nice side, it vanishes in your company." He grinned. "Who knows, without you around I might have turned into Craig." Oh thank heavens he hadn't, Lori had been enough as far as relationships went. He wasn't ever going down that road again.

"I agree completely. He should have done what we wanted him to." Of course, he knew that it took courage to do something he wanted as opposed to going along with his friends, and James was happy for Craig. "I guess we'll just have to relay the fun we're having."

He smiled. "I don't think that's possible. Cass is Cass, and I can't see him settling down any time soon."

James ruffled Dylan's hair, because he knew how to play dirty and that was retaliation for the elbow. "You'll have to suck it up and improvise." He snorted. "I really saved you, didn't I? Being nice is so horrible."
