Summary: Harry realises he overlooked something very important in the conversation with his son, and goes to confront Sirius.
Something head been gnawing in the back of his mind since his conversation with James last Sunday. For the most part, he’d put the unease off to being worried about his son, and worrying about what he’d do once he got too much time to think.
He’d been visiting James again today, bringing him books and things from his home, and it was when he walked out of the room that he was hit with the memory that had bothered him, the thing he’d overlooked when he spoke to James because there were so many other things to pick up on.
Sirius, he understands that this is something I need to do
Stopping short, Harry went over the conversation in his mind again, but there really was no other interpretation of what he’d heard. Sirius understands must mean Sirius knew – and not only had he not told him, he’d apparently encouraged it!
For a while he couldn’t move, his mind spinning with this new realisation. A feeling of confusion mixed with one of betrayal. How could Sirius have kept this from him? How could he have encouraged his son, his son to, in short, kill himself, when he’d done so much to protect him when he was younger?
Needing answers, needing to know, he didn’t walk out, but instead headed straight for Sirius’ rooms, knocking the door and entering before he had time to answer.
“Sirius!” he called out, his voice strained because he could not assume his son was correct. Forcing himself to remain calm, he phrased his question carefully when Sirius emerged. "When did James tell you he was planning on contacting Voldemort?"
