"Yes, it was, and we weren't the only ones," Regulus pointed out, because this wasn't about his family, but something a lot bigger.
Regulus couldn't tear his eyes away from Jake. There was understanding and a tenderness that didn't exist in the people he had known, on either sides. They had all been too bitter and cynical.
"That would be logical, but Sirius rarely does what's logical, so we'll have to wait on see," he said, grinning. "It's surprising how irrational his thought process can be. It's a Gryffindor thing, I believe."
He sighed. "Now, we hope that he doesn't find out or I'm in danger, but more than that if he figures out what made him immortal, he'll do it again, and the fight starts once more."
