"It was a great part, yes." He would not apologise for being a pureblood and believing that they were better. "I might not have liked some of those people, but they were the people who could have kept our traditions going. They were the ones who would have kept some of the changes that exist now at bay, but it's more than that."
Regulus caressed Jake's cheek. "You know what you've read, but the things that he asked his supports to do went over and above what needed to be done. He didn't care about creating a new order, but about accumulating money and power. It was subtle at first, but got worse and worse, and when I knew that we would never have reached that new order, I did what I had to do."
He shook his head. "Narcissa hasn't asked, although I'm sure she suspects something. Sirius was certain that I had turned my back on him, mostly because he knew that the Order hadn't killed me, so the Dark Lord had been responsible." He chuckled. "I've giving him plenty of openings to ask, but my brother is too self-involved to really ask."
