Entry tags:*complete, 2024 11, character: jasper diggory, dead character: natasha vladmyre

RP: Natasha and Jasper
Who: Natasha, Jasper
Where: Avalon Park
When: November 7
Rating/Warnings:
Summary: Natasha puts her plan to turn Jasper into the Dark Lord’s servant into action.

She’d watched him for a while now, and one thing she’d learnt of the Hit-wizard was his habit of running in Avalon Park. It was the perfect public place she needed.

Her preparations had been done to perfection, ensuring she had the fresh bruises and cuts to match the old injuries she had from years of approaching werewolves. She’d made people believe she was a victim before, and she could easily do it again – especially since every bruise and cut was real. She would not risk her credibility by having fake ones when real ones were so easy to arrange.

Her robes the right side of torn, she looked like she’d just got away from one hell of a fight and now standing among the trees, she waited until she spotted the man, then Apparated right next to the track, making sure to stumble and fall as she appeared out of thin air.

She scrambled to her feet, or tried to, faked terror on her face as she looked around her. “Help me,” she cried hoarsely, fake tears welling up in her eyes. “He’ll kill me this time. He’s gone mad!”

Jasper ran through the empty park, footfalls creating a beat that he found comforting. He was worried these days about things he didn't have control over. James' curse, Oliver, Bryn. It was all adding up and bubbling away beneath his care-free exterior.

He stopped dead as a woman apparated right next to the track. She looked terrified and the cuts and bruises spoke for themselves. Jasper's training took over and he approached her cautiously, wand already in his hand in case she was followed.

'Who's gone mad? What happened?' The words came out stricter than he was going for. But he needed information quickly, to understand the situation.

Bait swallowed, now she only needed to play her cards right. She couldn't give too much information, or he'd be able to see that she was lying, but she couldn't be too vague either.

Sobbing, she stepped back, her eyes on his wand. "He'll kill me. I can't- I won't let me." She broke out in false sobs, having studied sobbing women enough times to do it well. "He said he loved me, that he couldn't help it," she sobbed, still staring at his wand, at the trees and area around her, as if she expected someone to come for her. "He- He was on the potion and he still-" she let her voice crack as she faked a breakdown. It was enough information for any werewolf to put two and two together, added with the many cursed scars she'd received over the years the story of months of abuse by another werewolf would not be hard to believe.

What she described had been in his own thoughts since becoming a werewolf. Even taking wolfsbane, he was still dangerous. What had e even been thinking starting a relationship with Oliver. This woman was living proof that wolves should always live alone. 'He's a werewolf?'

Tucking his wand away, he took her arm carefully. 'Come on, you need to get those cuts seen to.'

Natasha shook her head violently when he told her that he wanted her to get seen to. "No!" she exclaimed in fear that was not entirely in need of faking. Because how did you explain someone who had been dead for close to two decades walking into St Mungo's.

"He'll find me!" she pleaded. "Please, I can't. I'm so afraid. He'll kill me if he finds me! He'll never let me go. Please. I'll handle it. Just don't- I've never needed care before. Just let me go, I'll hide, I'll...anything just don't bring me there."

Jasper frowned. For someone who initially asked for help this woman wasn't making it easy for him to give her assistance. Letting her arm go he stepped back and nodded. 'Fine, you go ahead and handle it yourself. If you want to be sensible about things come and find me at the Ministry. If he's hurting you, he should be dealt with accordingly and brought to justice.'

Patience wasn't his virtue and he was rapidly losing it with this stranger. Either she needed help or she didn't. He wasn't going to make up her mind for her.

What kind of Hit-wizard was this man? Was he insane? You did not leave a battered woman to handle herself, it was a sure way of getting her killed! Seriously.

"No, you can't leave me," she exclaimed because she couldn't let him get away, not now when she was so close. She looked at him, eyes wide and pleading. "I'm so afraid, please. Please don't take me to St Mungos. You can't understand. He's so strong and he- He smells me. If I went to St Mungo's I'd be dead. Please, I need somewhere safe. Somewhere he'd never look, please help me." If this didn't work then she wasn't sure what she'd do. She'd have to rethink her entire plan.

Finally, a decision.

Jasper nodded once and took her hand again. He wasn't about to take her right to his house, but there was a cottage they sometimes let to holiday makers up in the top field. It was out of the way and empty at that minute. She could stay there until he worked out a proper plan of action.

'A friend of mine is out of the country.' He lied easily, which wasn't entirely a good thing. 'I'm keeping an eye on the place, you could stay there.'

It was far from perfect, but it was good enough. Especially since she sensed that he'd really leave her if she was too much trouble. She needed to get close enough to him that he'd trust her, or to find out his weaknesses.

She nodded, keeping the fear in her eyes. "You promise I'll be safe there? You'll help me?" She needed him to take responsibility for her, only then could she get close enough. If she could get him to share her bed, it was all the better, if not then she'd settle for him feeling the need to protect her.

He nodded again, trying to be reassuring. He wasn't terribly good at this sort of thing. Catching Dark wizards yes, comforting victims, no. 'You'll be safe and I'll help as much as I am able.'

He smiled gently at her. 'I'll check in on you every day. Trust me?'

She bit her lip, looking insecure and afraid but nodding all the same. Inwardly she congratulated herself, though his words also meant that she would have to be careful. She could not freely see the Dark Lord while playing this charade.

"Thank you," she whispered, drying a few of her faked tears, waiting for him to bring her to this place of his.
