Scorpius snorted. "Sorry. I'm used to talking to James and all his I will sacrifice myself to save you all rubbish. He doesn't need to play the martyr all the time. It is getting old." He cursed under his breath knowing that would go straight back to James. At least it wouldn't be a surprise.
"It isn't the worst idea in the world. The upper floors are actually the living areas. They look a lot more like home. It would be easier for him to work to solve this thing," Scorpius pointed out. "I don't know about you, but I would like to quit itching at some point and not get a lot worse. My family doesn't want anyone to die because of that bastard, even Allison."
"Those are the joys of being a Malfoy. Only the highest expectations." Scorpius grinned in spite of all of that. "They do mean well, and I haven't had the worst life. I know what most people think of them and they are wrong about my family. Dad ran off when we got cursed and really tried to find the cure. He's not beyond a bit of bribery to get it either." There were some very good things about his family, but most of the time it was like talking to walls. "Still, they tell me what is expected and I just nod and then go off and figure out my own way. It isn't so hard."
