RP: Evening Edition, 3 November, 2024 Who: Everyone Where: Everywhere When: 3 November, 2024 Rating/Warnings: Summary: The Prophet reports on the werewolf attacks and the new murders
New Attack
In the early hours of Tuesday, the Aurors stopped the latest attack from the pack of werewolves that has been plaguing our community. The attack occurred in Helmsley. The victims lived in an isolated cottage at the outskirt of the town. The Waterhouse family is the latest victim.
Mr. Waterhouse was the stable manager at the Nott estate. Mrs. Waterhouse was a housewife. They were both killed during the attack. Their children survived, but were gravely injured. The Aurors refused to comment on the case, stating that it's an open investigation and any leak could help the werewolves avoid arrest.
In the attack, on werewolf was killed, while an Auror, Ronan Derrick, was severely injured. Mr. Derrick is a former Auror in the Netherlands and a new Auror in Britain. He is also a werewolf and this will ensure his quick recovery.
Hogwarts Closure Hurts Student
Bradley Waterhouse is a seventeen year old wizard on his seventh year and a Slytherin at Hogwarts. He also happens to be on of the latest victims of the werewolf attacks. Mr. Waterhouse was at his parents' house when he was attacked. While the details are unclear, it is known that Mr. Waterhouse did not Disapparate, but stayed behind. During the attack, he was bitten and is in critical condition. Should he survive, he will have to deal with his new state as a lycantrophe on top of the trauma of the attack.
This would not have happened if Mr. Waterhouse had been in school, like he was supposed to be. Did the Ministry make the right decision? Isn't Hogwart's the safest place for our children? And if it weren't before, is it now that Professor Albus Dumbledore is back? The Minister will have to face these new questions and protect our youngest.
New Murderers
The Aurors discovered the bodies of two dead men. One was found in Biddingdon, the other in Hawkhurst. Both bodies were badly burned and the Aurors have been unable to identified the victims. No other details were being released.
This case seems related to the body found last month. Again, it happened on the full moon, but the magical burns indicate that it was the deed of a wizard or perahps more than one. Questions about possible links to the Death Eaters and Voldemort were not answered by the Auror department or the Minister's spokeperson.
