"It would be worth it if only to embarrass the mediwitches," she joked. "So why is it embarrassing if there's no evidence of anything? People just assume you're normal and it's even easier," she reasoned.
"You will be alive. I'm getting worse quicker than you so don't say that or I'll be dead in two weeks and-" She raised her chin defiantly. "I'm not going anywhere and neither are you. You still have to find somebody who doesn't give a toss about who you or your family are because I like being right."
Allison smiled at him. "Thanks, I used to love hearing stories. I always wanted to write children's books before I hit upon being a solicitor. Bit of a difference career-wise," she said. "Maybe that's why this... Hasn't been so hard. Accepting your world, I mean. It's kind of like a story."
