Scorpius' last words struck deep into Draco. He had always thought the purpose of his absence was obvious. "I'd never let business keep me from you... not again, at least."
"I tried, Scorpius, I really did," Draco tried to explain, although he was sure his son knew that blackmail, bribery, and force were tools he had no problem employing.
