Regulus raised an eyebrow. Really, liking someone was becoming annoying, because he wasn't used to having people speak to him in such a way. "It isn't actually my fault that everyone you know has grown complacent, either. I grew up in a time that it would have happened at any time and we took precautions."
He sighed, knowing that it wasn't what Jake wanted to hear, but really, the only way to protect oneself was to become an occlumens. "I can teach you how to stop that, but Jake, Voldemort and Dumbledore are back, and neither one is going to care about social advances. It's just a matter of time until they start recruiting their pawns. Getting angry isn't going to make a difference."
He snorted. "Leave it to Dumbledore to worry about his robes, although I'm sure there was a reason or whatever he asked, even if you couldn't figure it out." He grazed Jake's cheek with his knuckles and then leaned in to kiss him. "You've told me what he knows, although I suspect he'll know a lot more once he speaks with his allies. I want to know what he told you. Did he say anything to you that could put you in danger?" He wouldn't put it past Dumbledore, because that would ensure Jake's loyalty regardless of what he thought.
