Alex took the shaker, moving the potatoes around so they'd all get the seasoning, then started to sprinkle it on.
He nodded, glancing over his shoulder at her. "Yeah. Sometimes it's weird when I think about it, like it's too grown-up or something. But mostly it just seems right." He put the top on the spice and picked up the pan, sliding it into the oven and then wiping off his hands.
"I just want to be with her all the time." He chewed at the inside of his cheek, then looked at his mother. "Were you like that with Dad?"
