"He is," Allison said. "I know he's in the papers a lot but he seems kind of wary around people. I hope he finds a girl he can trust one day," She grinned. "I sound like such a worried mother."
"Just... Don't mention it directly, okay? I'm pretty sure he hasn't told anybody else and he- He trusts me. I wouldn't even be saying this if I wasn't sure that he meant it," She ran her fingers through her hair and looked up at him. "I like that he trusts me. I don't want that to change."
She pulled her hair back, revealing her missing ear. "I'll be distinctive enough as it is so there's no point in me wearing robes," she said with a lopsided smile. "Besides if I'm with James and staring agog at everything, I'm sure they'll guess."
Allison bit her lip. "I don't know- I suppose... I work at a solicitors. We could say that there's a high-profile case coming up and for my own protection and theirs I've had to go away," She sighed. "Nothing is perfect. Unless they have something with my handwriting on it I doubt they'll believe it."
