Owl to Molly Weasley Who: Alice Longbottom, Molly Weasley I Where: The sky When: Afternoon, 13 October 2024 Rating: None Summary: Alice musters the courage to owl one of her friends.
The tests had been exhausting, but it was a good sort of tired. A sort of tired she had missed while she grew accustomed to her new time. Curling up on her bed, Alice held a piece of parchment in her lap as she stared down at its blank page. Now that she was sure to be in the Ministry fully, it was only a matter of time before she ran into Arthur on the lift or something. If she ran into Arthur without contacting Molly first... well, the results wouldn't have been pretty.
Besides, Alice had been a coward, hiding in Longbottom House. She missed her friend, even though her friend had grown old without her. That didn't matter though. A bond created through fire was as strong as anything. Picking up her quill, she began to write.
Dearest Molly,
You will have to forgive me, for I have been selfish and cowardly and a number of other horrible things. I have been alive? conscious? sane? for nearly the past three weeks, trying to adjust first without Frank and then trying to help him in this new, crazy world.
But as I normalize my life, try and bring it back to the way it was, or as close to it as possible, I am reminded that I am forgetting one very important thing: my friends. While Lily is still gone, as far as I can tell, you are still here, my dear friend. I cannot put into words how sorry I am to have left you alone to watch over the brood, to shoulder a mother's worry alone.
I should have owled sooner and for that I apologize.
