"Don't patronise me, and don't treat me like I'm stupid," he snapped, a flash of anger darkening his eyes, but the truth was that he was angry at himself and not at Jake. Usually he'd have no problem taking his anger out on someone else, but Jake had been more than kind, and Regulus liked him, which was very confusing indeed.
"Sorry," he said after he took a deep breath. "I grew up with expectations. I like expectations, because then you know what to do and how to get around them to get what you want. Expectations are the rules of the game, and you figure out how to play once you know. Here, now, there are no expectations, no rules, no limits. It is no wonder that so many seem to flounce through life.
Regulus smiled. "I don't know how you can understand when I barely do." He squeezed Jake's thigh while he kissed him softly. "I know I like you." His lips travelled over Jake's jaw. "I know I like kissing you." His hand covered Jake's crotch and pressed gently. "I know that you can't treat me like a child or we wouldn't be doing this." He raised his head and stared at Jake. "I don't want you to stop."
