"I think anything compared to being questioned and dealing with Aurors is more attractive to be honest," Jake reasoned, rolling his eyes. "I think if your cousin hadn't arrived when she did, there would have been an incident. They were not happy with me keeping from doing their job as it was."
Jake hadn't cared either. In fact, he enjoyed pissing off the men that had brought Regulus in.
"Mentioning the Dark Lord...I have been curious if you've felt anything. On your arm," Jake asked, looking at the arm where Regulus still had the mark. "Professional interest, more so than personal."
He knew that with everyone that Regulus woke up to losing, the idea of his house elf's death was difficult. "I will inquire about it then," Jake murmured, and then let the subject drop. He was sure he would be able to find another elf to help Regulus and Kreacher.
Jake raised an eyebrow when his wine glass was plucked from his hand. It only contained a fourth of the wine left from when he poured it originally. He chuckled, lowering his eyelashes and looking down before meeting the other wizard's gaze.
"That's an invitation I can't refuse," he admitted, swallowing when Regulus grew closer. Jake rested his hand on the man's thigh and leaned in, brushing his mouth over Regulus' lips softly. He lingered for a second before pressing his lips more firmly, the tip of his tongue barely touching Regulus' bottom lip.
