"Him?" Colin ventured, though really grammar had never been his strong suit - and not something they'd apparently put much of an emphasis on in school. "It's mental, really. I mean ... you look older than him, or well I guess..." Older than the way he remembered his brother.
This whole situation made it hard to have a real talk with anyone, how were you supposed to muddle over the fact that he'd returned from the dead? that everyone he knew was either dead or older now? He understood when Chris trailed off, he knew and they didn't need to say more than that.
"Thanks." Were you supposed thank someone who was glad you were back from the dead? He wasn't entirely sure, but decided to err on the side of yes.
"I didn't expect you to come by so soon." Colin told him. "I mean I saw Den's face, figured you all would probably want some space, at least for a while."
